Pakistan riding holidays
Following a research trip in early 2025 we are delighted to welcome Bertie Alexander and Taimur Noon’s unique adventures in Pakistan to our portfolio of the world’s best and most exciting riding opportunities.
Week long riding itineraries between October and March are based at the Noon’s magnificent ancestral home and estate in the Punjabi lowlands of rural Pakistan 200kms north-west of Lahore. Guests enjoy the salubrious surroundings of Nurpur Noon before embarking on an adventure during which their horses swim (a rustic ferry is available for the faint -hearted) the Jhelum River on whose banks Alexander the Great defeated the ancient Indian King of Porus in 326BC. The ride continues into the Salt Range mountains with nights under canvas in spacious safari tents before a return to the comforts of Nurpur Noon, where guests stay inside an imposing red-brick palace and built in the Mughal style and guarded by twin canons.
During your stay there will be a lawn meet of the Peshawar Vale Hunt, a famous pack first established to hunt jackal in 1860 and recently resurrected to widespread acclaim by your hosts and joint masters of the Hunt, Bertie and Taimur. Whilst at Nurpur there will be opportunities to play polo on the Noon’s immaculate private pitch and participate in tent pegging and other traditional equestrian sports on fast, forward-going horses that are a joy to ride. The holiday ends with a stay in the romantic and beautiful city of Lahore.
During May, June and September there may also be an opportunity to join a ride in the Hindu Kush, although these extraordinary expeditions are best suited to an exclusive group of friends – do please contact us to arrange. Mounted expeditions through wild and remote north west Pakistan start with a night in Chitral before heading off to explore a spectacular landscape of imposing snow-capped mountains and clear shimmering lakes. The mountain valleys we ride through are home to vibrant and colourful communities happy to share traditions, hospitality and their love of horses and equine sports (polo is revered throughout the Hindu Kush) with visitors, who will gain a rare and privileged insight into their hosts’ rural way of life.
In addition to these exhilarating rides we also arrange a private and exclusive fields sports itinerary in February each year which includes several days’ hunting with the Peshawar Vale Hunt and outings with locals and their long dogs. The full itinerary can be found under the Offers and Exclusive Trips tab on the home page of this website.
