Try not to miss: The stark wild beauty of the Atacama Desert in the north of the country, where red lunar landscapes stretch interminably into the distance – best explored from the famous Explora Hotel located a short way from the oasis town of San Pedro.
Further south join of one of Wild and Exotic’s fabulous rides from Argentina into Chile. The first of these starts in the Argentine Lake District and finishes at the Chilean Pacific Fiord of Cayuthue within sight of the Osorno Volcano. Our alternative Andes ride begins at Estancia Huechahue and ends on the Andes’ western slopes at Puente Barras. Fishermen should not miss the lovely Futa Lodge just across the border from Argentina.
The magnificent Torres del Paine National Park lies further south still, a land of timeless rugged beauty made up of jagged white peaks, glacial lakes and untouched wilderness that has been a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1978. Explore the surrounding landscape from the back of a horse by joining one of our riding adventures from Puerto Arenas to estancia Cerro Guido on the edge of the park.
